                             Friday November 6, 2009    Destination #1 : Old Salem    Winston Salem, NC

                             The tour departs early from Carteret County on a comfortable American Coach Line motor coach
                                       with  a Travel Team designated driver providing courteous and professional service.   You’ll enjoy a
                                       continental breakfast
en route along with entertainment, pertinent DVD’s, and educational overview
                                       of the trip.
  Sit back, relax as we cross the state.    
  

                                      Visit Old
Salem the faithfully restored German Moravian congregation town founded in 1766.  Here
                                      you will walk streets virtually unchanged  for 200 years and see costumed interpreters re-enact how

               Saturday November 7,  2009     Destination#3 :  Asheville  & The Biltmore Estate 

                    Enjoy a  Saturday morning well-stocked  breakfast buffet at our

Then savor the fall scenery  in Yadkin Valley & the anticipation of visiting
                     the largest private home in
 
America
on more  than 8000 acres of land. 

                    We’ll begin our
Asheville experience with a stop downtown.  Choose lunch from a variety of unique bistros, cafes,
                    and gourmet restaurants.  Then spend  a few hours shopping  the galleries, boutiques and shops in
Asheville. 
                   
Check out  the Asheville Museum of Art  in the heart of downtown.

                   Mid afternoon check

            Sunday November 8, 2009   Destination #4: Folk Arts Center, Asheville, Biltmore Winery

                     After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, 
            
our coach will  follow the Blue Ridge Parkway for a morning visit to the  Folk Arts Center , the flagship facility
            of the  Southern Highland Craft Guild.
  The Center showcases traditional and contemporary crafts  of the
Southern 
            Appalachians
with three exhibit galleries, live demonstrations by master crafters and the Allanstand Craft Shop,
            the oldest continuously operating craft shop in the nation.
 
            Sunday noon
  we’ll share  a
hearty lunch  together at Frankie Bones  followed by a guided coach tour
           of the Asheville area including history, architecture & arts of the Montford District, Grove Park Historic District,
 
           Art Deco-rich Downtown, the Urban trail and the River Arts District.
 

          Sunday mid-afternoon offers choices: Biltmore Winery tour and tasting,  Biltmore grounds
              
Shopping  and browsing time at  the historic Biltmore Village Shops,  or a destination of your choice via taxi.

         Sunday evening you’ll choose a dinner option on your own.  We’ll provide several restaurant suggestions
               or perhaps you have a favorite in mind.   

         Monday November 9, 2009      Destination #5:  Lexington BBQ and Potters of Seagrove

      
After breakfast at  Holiday Inn Express Suites,  we’ll say goodbye to Asheville and head east for a visit to Seagrove,
         the pottery center of the
  state
.   We’ll stop in Lexington's  "Honey Monk" Lexington BBQ #1  for  an early lunch. 
         Featured in the  best seller 
Holy Smoke,  this BBQ has been described as "
Pure heaven,  the Nirvana of pig meat...
        the apotheosis of pork. "

       We’ll arrive in  Seagrove for an afternoon of browsing and education.  This area is one of the
         largest communities of potters with the longest continual history of pottery making in the
United States. Our tour
        
includes the world-famous Jugtown Pottery and Museum,  a brief history of the area as well as visits to a number
        of other studios of your choice.

       We’ll depart for home in late afternoon with  a fast food supper along the way.   Travelers will reflect upon their  favorite
       "sampling of North Carolina's history, arts, architecture and craftsmanship. "
